Cat Sitting Experts in North London

Kitty & Caboodle is a team of trustworthy, reliable cat lovers and owners who will always go the extra mile to ensure your cat gets the best possible care while you are away.

Cat sitting visits

Kitty & Caboodle is an in-home cat sitting proposition as cats are territorial and like to be in their own space, surrounded by familiar smells and sounds, and follow their normal routine. Trusted and fully insured, most of our customers have been booking with us for over 10 years.

We will visit the agreed number of times a day as specified in your booking invoice. We usually try to allocate the same sitter to your booking so they can form a relationship with your cats, but this is not always possible during very busy periods or when they have annual leave/days off.

We stay up to 30 minutes, but this may be shorter if your cat is outside exploring or does not require any interaction with us (e.g. if they are very shy or particularly “feisty”!).

During each visit we will see to their food, water and litter and we always remove all food and litter rubbish from your property, so that everything is nice and clean for your return home. We will also administer medication where required. Unfortunately we do not cover insulin injections.

Then it’s all about affection and play-time! We love this part of the visit and sitters take great pleasure in getting to know our furry charges and their little quirks and at times goof-ball ways. We also understand that they will be missing you a lot so we give them lots of attention, cuddles and grooming – particularly important for indoor cats who may need to work off excess energy.

So that you know we have visited, we will post a photo of your cat along with a nice caption on the Kitty & Caboodle Instagram account. We regret that we cannot whatsapp or email photos.

Expert care should a problem arise

Before your booking starts we will ask you to complete a registration form that contains information that is essential for us to care for your cat and home properly.

This will also include an in case of emergency number should we be unable to reach you and your registered vet’s details. If we note anything of concern e.g. loose stools/loss of appetite or, if your outdoor cat has not been seen on two consecutive visits, we will send you an email to discuss next steps.

Should something more serious arise that needs vet assistance we will make every effort to contact you on the numbers supplied. However, if this is not possible, we reserve the right to seek veterinary treatment for your cat without consent and to be reimbursed upon your return. We will contact your registered vet in the first instance and if they are closed we will use the nearest animal hospital. There will be a charge for our time should this occur.

We know your cats are very dear to you, otherwise you would not be seeking a service such as ours. Every effort is made to ensure your cat’s safety, however on rare occasions problems do occur and we cannot be held liable for these. Our Terms & Conditions are available to read here.

We take your home security very seriously

We know home security can be a worry while you are away so by having Kitty & Caboodle visit every day, it will be some peace of mind for you to know your home is in order.

We’ll collect post from your doormat and put leave it somewhere nearby to minimize any risk of people knowing you are away. And, if you have requested two visits a day, we are also able to open/close curtains and turn lights on/off so it looks as if someone is home. Please do let us know if you have anyone visiting during your booking as if anything looks unusual our sitters will get in touch with the office immediately.

Before you leave

Whilst we will have collected all information we need to look after your kitties from your registration form, there are certain things we need you to have in place before you leave that make our job easier!

We do ask that you don’t leave any instructions on paper as they may not be seen or knocked off counters by mischievous kitties!

Please email any information to our office and your central care file will be updated.

Here’s a short checklist for things that need to be made available to us:
• Sufficient food and litter for the duration of the booking
• Pooper scooper and plastic bags to dispose of rubbish and litter
• Cleaning products and cloths to clear any vomit or toileting accidents
• A set of tested and working keys
• Paper parking permits or e-vouchers*

*The majority of the team are drivers so we will need parking permits to be ready for when restrictions are in place please – either by providing us with paper permits or log in details for an e-voucher account.

On your Return

We really appreciate an email from you to let us know that you have returned home safely to look after your cats. If we do not hear from you we will assume that you are home safely.

And, if you are happy with the service you have received, a review on our Google Page would be most welcome!
